Generous outdoor gastronomy with friendly, attentive service. There is also plenty of space inside for a comfortable stay. The drinks menu is extensive and offers plenty of choice. The Vespers menu offers delicious, appetizing dishes. And the same applies here: see and be seen in the lively center of Ahrweiler. And when it gets crowded outside, there is often still room on the "rascal bench"! During the dark season, cozy guest rooms invite you to relax. May 13, 2020: Dear Rosemarie, dear Nunzio, it is a pity and it is saddened that you give up and withdraw from the market fountain. We wish you the very best for the future and stay healthy! Good location, friendly service despite stress, food nothing special.

Unfortunately I can not confirm the positive reviews. It may be that the food and drinks are good and also the service is mostly friendly. I can not confirm that. We were on 29.06. 2019, as every Saturday, in Ahrweiler on the road to talk to people about different topics. In this connection, we were approached and invited by two nice gentlemen who sat in front of the market well and drank something. We thanked each other and said we would like to follow this invitation on the way back. After we came back then the invitation was pronounced again. We wanted to sit at the next table, which was not possible because the waitress came to tell us that we were not welcome in this place. On our question, why not, we got the answer we would provoke. None of us provoked anyone. We talked only with the three gentlemen and the lady at the table about the invitation. This kind of hospitality we are not used to and of course have left the restaurant (outside area). It is a pity that in Ahrweiler there are places that obviously want to place people in a corner that suits them. So I can not even give the restaurant a star.

So here people are not served because of their views. By no means would I visit or recommend such a brown house.

How could I recommend a restaurant where we ask three girls to leave because we do not like our opinion. We had not even commented on that. Our first and last visit had to be canceled, the invitation of a guest unfortunately we could not comply. I'm not used to such things, but I like to carry my money where I'm always a welcome guest. The three of us (average dressed pensioners) went to the market fountain on a hot summer day to refresh ourselves with a cool drink. Before we could take a seat, a waitress rushed up to us and told us that we were not wanted because she thought we could have a political opinion that she did not like. In her opinion, our presence would provoke (whatever) and she asked us to leave the bar. Therefore it is not possible for me to recommend this restaurant even in the slightest. On the one hand because of the personal treatment, on the other hand because in Germany you can still decide for yourself which political views you have. A waitress doesn't have to decide that. So if you want to decide for yourself what views you have, whether political or not, you are not welcome in the market fountain. But that's not tragic, there is more than enough competition for great food and excellent service.

On a hot summer's day, I visited the market well with a friend to freshen up with a drink. In the heart of Ahrweiler, you can enjoy the beauty of the historic city on shady outdoor courts. A really nice and attentive service had quickly fulfilled our desires. A soft wheat beer and white wine in a cool temperature, as it can not be better in the heat. Friendliness and service are simple. I'll be back.

Nice terrace, friendly service, unfortunately no card payment possible.

Super cool landlords, here you can meet real Ahrweiler people with whom you can quickly start as a tourist. Also highly recommended for darts and soccer fans. There is also something for the small hunger and of course you can smoke until the bars bend ....

All outside tables were occupied. The operation was still very quick ? Delicious food for in between, special requests were not a problem

Really nice place and ambient. A little expensive but the drinks are fine and good quality and quantity.
